Today: first show in Tallahassee
Heck, first show in ... 2 years? 3? The great irony when we moved here in 2006 was that I finally had the studio of my dreams - and no time to use it. I am so happy that's not true any more!
I began working in glass after giving myself a lampworking class for my birthday in 1999. I was hooked! But beadwork takes a LONG time for a very very tiny piece of work - and a good set of wrists. Nobody would ever accuse me of having *extra* patience, and I've had bouts of carpal tunnel syndrome, so I got big - fast. I bought my first kiln in 2001, I think - the one I now call the "test kiln." The studio now has 4 - the vitrigraph kiln, the test kiln, the bathtub, and the coffin kiln. That's just fuser slang for a big rectangle kiln that - well, yes, it could fit a body. Mwahahaha. Now I'd like to get serious - I have been in shows, and have sold here and there, but it's time to take it to the next level.
